Overview of Programme

Cape Town is a vibrant city with immense natural beauty and a rich African and European cultural history, making it one of the world’s top 10 places to visit.

The luxury 5-star Mount Nelson Hotel is still one of the most adored and elegant properties in Cape Town, situated at the foothills of Table Mountain. The Mount Nelson Hotel celebrated its centenary a few years ago and it is no wonder that it is part of the Orient-Express group of hotels, the world's most magical collection of romantic luxury hotels, resorts and restaurants.

‘Tinga’ is derived from the Shangaan word for ‘many lions”. The exclusive Tinga Private Game Lodge is a 5000 hectare private concession including 35 kilometres of river frontage along the Sabie and Sand Rivers, situated within the prime game-viewing area of the Kruger National Park. Tinga’s open safari vehicles have exclusive use of the concession with night drives, off-road driving and guided bush walks being permitted. The Sabie River has a rich biodiversity with a myriad of bird, reptile and insect species. ‘Big Five’ (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo) sightings are common, as well as regular sightings of endangered species such as black rhino and African wild dog.

Day 1

• Arrive into O.R. Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg).

• Domestic flight to Cape Town (2 hours). 

• Luxury coach transfer to the hotel.

• Private group check-in at the 5-Star Mount Nelson Hotel including a welcome function with drinks and snacks on arrival.

• Guests retire at leisure for the evening

Day 2

• Breakfast in the hotel at leisure.
• Depart on a full day Cape Peninsula Tour.
• Surprise 20-minute helicopter flight over the city bowl and Table Mountain.
• The coach tour then continues along the scenic Chapman’s Peak Drive including entrance to Cape Point Nature Reserve, and a funicular ride to see Cape Point.
• Exclusive surprise picnic luncheon under a Bedouin tent on a secluded beach.
• Visit the resident Penguin Colony at Boulders Beach.
• Return to the hotel late afternoon.
• Time at leisure.
• Dine-around evening at select fine dining city bowl restaurants.

Day 3

• Breakfast in the hotel at leisure.

• Depart on a full day Winelands tour including 2 private wine tastings at award winning wine estates.

• Exclusive three course lunch at a local vineyard restaurant.

• Return to the hotel mid afternoon.

• Time at leisure.

• Gala dinner at the Mount Nelson Hotel including private pre-dinner drinks and canapés around the fountain and a performance by Cape Minstrels, followed by an exclusive three course gala dinner.

Day 4

• Depart Cape Town.
• Domestic flight to Johannesburg (2 hours).
• Scheduled air-shuttle to Skukuza Airport in the Kruger National Park (±1 hour).
• Private group check-in at Tinga’s 5-Star Narina and Legends Lodges.
• High tea is served at the lodges.
• Depart on a private safari with Guides and Trackers.
• Exclusive group sundowner stop in the bush with drinks and snacks.
• Exclusive group dinner in a traditional African ‘Boma’ (open-air reed enclosure).

Day 5

• Early morning wake up call.
• Coffee, tea and breakfast pastries are served at the lodges.
• Early morning game drive.
• Return to the lodges for breakfast.
• Time at leisure – best spent relaxing in the plunge pool or perhaps indulging in a wellness treatment.
• Buffet lunch served at the lodges.
• High tea at the lodges followed by a private game drive.
• Exclusive Bush Dinner with tribal dancers and drummers.

Day 6

• Early morning wake up call.
• Coffee, tea and breakfast pastries at the lodges followed by an early morning game drive and breakfast at the lodges.
• Time at leisure.
• Scheduled air-shuttle from Skukuza Airport to Johannesburg (±1 hour).
• Check-in for outbound international flight at O.R. Tambo International Airport.
• Return flight home.

Package is quoted on 36 participants sharing and is devised to illustrate the type of incentive programme that is feasible. Rate of exchange is based on R 16.75 to GBP £ 1.00 / R 13.25 to EUR € 13.25 (at time of going to print) and quoted on high season rates valid until 30 November 2009.
